Webinar to examine highlights of BCLA CLEAR

A new BCLA webinar will review the content of the BCLA CLEAR research, looking at papers likely to impact on the delivery of clinically effective optimal contact lens care.

The session will be presented by Professor James Wolffsohn and Professor Jonathan Jackson who will discuss the most pertinent points raised.

Professor Wolffsohn, a highly respected academic and executive lead on BCLA CLEAR, will highlight important academic content presented in the papers whereas Professor Jonathan Jackson, a leading hospital optometrist with specific clinical experience in the management of medical contact lenses, will discuss the clinical implications arising from these papers.

The webinar forms part of the BCLA’s ongoing education programme for 2022, with a range of online and face-to-face events scheduled to give members access to the very latest learning and technological advances in the field of contact lenses and anterior eye.

The webinar, which is open only to BCLA members, will be held online from 6.30pm to 7.30pm on Wednesday, 15 June 2022. CPD has been applied for.

Professor Jackson is Head of Optometry at the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, and Director of the Northern Ireland Clinical Research Network, has contact lens related clinical experience gained through working in Moorfields Eye Hospital London, University of California Berkeley, the Australian College of Optometry in Melbourne and the Royal Victoria Hospital Belfast.

Professor Wolffsohn is a Professor of Optometry at Aston University. His main research areas are the development and evaluation of ophthalmic instrumentation, contact lenses, intraocular lenses, and the tear film. He is the academic chair of the BCLA and a past president.
