About Sightsavers
At Sightsavers, we start with sight, but we don’t stop there.
We treat eye conditions such as cataracts and tackle debilitating diseases, many of which cause sight loss. To do this, we work with governments and local, national and international partners to carry out eye operations and distribute treatments where they’re needed.
We also advocate for the rights of women, girls and people with disabilities, and help to improve local health services so they are sustainable.
We have more than 70 years of experience, and we’re proud to be a leader in our field. Our programmes consistently achieve high performance ratings from the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
In the past 70 years, Sightsavers has achieved amazing things. We work in more than 30 countries to train health workers, provide eye operations, support people with disabilities, improve women’s health and more. Will you help us continue our work?
Eye health professionals are uniquely placed to help Sightsavers protect sight worldwide. In order to provide support to those in need of eye health services and ensure that our work is sustainable and creates a positive and lasting legacy in the countries where we operate, we work closely with the ministries and eye health experts in the countries where we have projects.
We have recently launched our eye health partner initiative, where we connect with eye health professionals in the UK and beyond to support our work and share in our successes in providing eye health and preventing causes of avoidable blindness. As an eye health professional, you have a unique insight into the challenges of saving sight. By partnering with Sightsavers, you can make a difference, one operation, examination and treatment at a time.
