Education programme at 100% Optical 2025 set to be a sell-out success
The UK’s largest optical trade show is taking place at ExCeL London from 1–3 March 2025
Education at this year’s 100% Optical is proving to be in high demand with the first release of sessions, as part of the AOP member exclusive booking window, almost selling out in 24 hours.
Further education sessions will become available over the next few weeks with additional capacity released across the entire programme in early February. Seats reserved for walk-ins will also be available over the weekend of the event on a first come, first served basis.
As the leading education event for optics, the Association of Optometrists’ (AOP) programme is designed to cater for the needs of practitioners, from all modes of practice, offering an extensive range of education, talks from industry leaders, alongside the opportunity to network with industry peers and exhibitors.
With over 100 CPD accredited sessions on offer, delegates will be able to earn points from content delivered by the AOP’s expert clinicians, including:
- A legal session by Dr Peter Hampson, AOP Clinical and Policy Director, and Efa Schmidt, Head of Clinical Negligence, on refining clinical judgment to reduce diagnostic uncertainty
- A lecture on current and future applications of AI for clinical eye care practice from Kishan Devraj, Optometrist and Honorary Clinical Research Fellow at Moorfields Eye Hospital, and Dr Byki Huntjens, AOP Education Lead
- A peer review in the ‘Optical Academy’ by Henry Leonard, AOP Head of Clinical and Regulatory, on common clinical, ethical and regulatory scenarios involving children.
AOP members will also have access to the AOP lounge which offers exclusive CPD content, including peer reviews and discussion workshops hosted by CooperVision, Johnson & Johnson Vision and Optos.
Dr Ian Beasley, AOP Head of Education, said: “We’re pleased to see such enthusiastic demand for the education offering at this year’s event. As we begin a new CPD cycle, practitioners will have an early start to fulfilling their education requirements, with sessions curated to cover a wide range of clinical topics and support delegates in advancing their knowledge and professional development.”
AOP members who registered in advance had access to priority bookings from 13 January, and sessions are open to all delegates w/c 20 January.
100% Optical is organised by specialist events business, CloserStill Media, following its purchase of the optical trade show in October 2024.
