Sterimedix Ltd, to expand on success at Medica

UK manufacturer of aesthetic and ophthalmic devices has eyes on further growth at MEDICA

A UK based leading supplier of ophthalmic and aesthetic cannulas, Sterimedix Ltd, are looking to expand on their global success at this year’s Medica – the world’s largest exhibition for the medical sector.

The company began with the manufacture of surgical products for eye surgery over thirty years ago, believing strongly in the concept of single-use instruments to minimise the risk of bioburden transfer. Sterimedix is currently the only manufacturer of cannulas for ophthalmic use in Europe.

A focus on quality and manufacturing excellence was rewarded with success in global market penetration and resulted in a move to larger advanced manufacturing facilities.

Then, in response to dramatic growth in demand for injectable implants during the early 2000s, Sterimedix launched its range of single-use flexible aesthetic cannulas and sharp needles, under the brand name of Silkann, for the injection of aesthetic dermal fillers.

Sterimedix are now seeing a rise in interest for orthopaedic applications where exciting advances are being made to deliver quality-of-life improvement for many patients.

Today, Sterimedix products are still produced in the UK. Each year millions of single-use instruments are manufactured at the company’s state-of-the-art facilities, to exacting quality standards, using a combination of precision hand skills and automated machinery.

The ability to produce high volume, quality products has seen the business reach high global success as their ophthalmic and aesthetic cannulas are supplied through a worldwide network of distributors, pharmaceutical companies and kit packers supplying treatment procedure packs.

Sterimedix will be exhibiting at MEDICA this year. A team of product specialists will be on hand to provide information, explore opportunities for cooperation and discuss some of the latest industry developments in the employment of single-use cannulas. This includes the emergence of orthopaedic applications that the business is keen to develop.

The company will be located on the UK Pavilion in Hall 16. Drop by and speak to a member of the team on stand J16-2.
