Specsavers named Great Place to Work
Specsavers has gained a significant accreditation in being named as a Great Place to Work-Certified® business, thanks to feedback from colleagues and partners.
Certification is achieved when at least 65% of employees report a consistently positive experience in feedback gathered by Great Place to Work – a global authority on workplace culture.
In Specsavers’ UK business, 80% of people surveyed responded positively.
Great Place to Work® is the global authority on workplace culture. Since 1992, they have surveyed over 100 million employees around the world, using those deep insights to define the element that makes a great workplace: trust. Great Place to Work® UK helps organisations quantify their culture and produce better business results by creating a high-trust work experience for all employees.
As well as the UK, Specsavers businesses in the Republic of Ireland and Canada as well as the manufacturing and distribution sites in Hungary and Hong Kong have also been accredited. Specsavers is also certified in Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands, Finland, Norway, Australia and New Zealand. This means Specsavers is now a Great Place to Work-Certified® business across four continents.
Specsavers CEO John Perkins says: ‘Achieving Great Place to Work certification across the globe means so much to us at Specsavers, particularly given we only receive this amazing recognition by our people sharing how they feel about working here and the strength of their honest feedback.
‘Being a great place to work is more than just something we say, it’s something we aim to make a reality for our colleagues and partners every day, wherever they work. We’re delighted this has been acknowledged with our Certification™ and our focus continues to be on creating an exceptional experience for our people and our customers. By doing this and creating a Great Place to Work, we are privileged to have more than 40,000 passionate and dedicated people, who want to change lives through better sight and hearing.
‘We congratulate Specsavers on achieving their Certification™,’ said Benedict Gautrey, Managing Director of Great Place to Work® UK. ‘Organisations which put the employee experience at the heart of their business gain their employees’ trust and, in turn, are truly able to build a great workplace culture that delivers outstanding business results.’
