Specsavers invests £64m in high street practices

Specsavers is investing more than £85,000 a day in its practices to deliver accessible patient care and support the high street.

The improvements include upgraded practice interiors, illuminated product displays, and digital screens to enhance the customer experience. More than 650 practices will be refreshed over two years, with 500 already completed, with an investment of more than £64m over the period.

‘High streets are the hubs of local communities across the nation. They serve as a lifeline for many, whether that’s as a place to socialise and connect with others, or somewhere that people can conveniently access vital goods and services,’ says Carina Hummel, UK managing director at Specsavers.

‘Specsavers is one of the largest providers of healthcare on the high street and we believe that everyone should be able to access our care conveniently in their own communities. We’re committed to continually investing in our practices to improve the environment for patients and our colleagues.’

She adds that the benefits of investing in physical spaces are twofold: ‘Colleagues will feel motivated and proud to be at work, helping them provide the best service to patients. And with an engaging and inviting environment, as well as a personalised and high-quality service, patients will come back time and time again.’
