Eye care professionals can now register their place for this year’s BCLA Clinical Conference & Exhibition, with delegates promised a ‘deep dive’ into the latest in contact lens and anterior eye technology and clinical advancements.

The conference will be held at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Birmingham from Thursday, 5 June to Saturday, 7 June – aiming to exhibit world-class clinically relevant research while nurturing new clinicians and young academics.

Eye care professionals attending the conference will be challenged to evolve their day-to-day practice to make it more evidence-based and patient-centric by offering “science-informed clinical management”.

BCLA chief executive Luke Stevens-Burt said: “We’re looking forward to an exceptional three days of learning and networking. This meeting will deliver the latest innovation and clinical insight, with world-class speakers on all areas of contact lenses and ocular surface health.

“Delegates will see the very latest innovation that is shaping the eye care profession and will receive expert clinical insight, with live demonstrations, workshops and interactive sessions led by world-class speakers in all aspects of contact lenses and ocular surface, as well as the highly anticipated BCLA honours and professional awards.”

Sessions will see speakers sharing their insights on the latest innovations in clinical practice and discuss advancements in subjects such as contact lenses, myopia control, dry eye, ocular health and anterior eye care.

Confirmed sessions include Prof Philip Morgan delivering a keynote presentation giving ‘a perspective of contact lens wear’, Dr Nick Rumney on ‘detecting and managing anterior eye inflammation’ and Dr Rachel Casemore presenting the Irving Fatt Memorial lecture on ‘Dry Eye Disease in Young Adults: risk factors, clinical signs, and biomarkers’.

The programme also features live demonstrations and practical hands-on workshops showcasing the newest techniques, while delegates will hear from companies embedding artificial intelligence into the tools used for providing everyday patient care.
