Optoversity Challenge 2022 calls all students to get online
The Out of the Box Optoversity Challenge – 27 February – is urging all optometry students to book their place for the biggest student event in the sector, with a day of fun and abundant prizes to be won.
Gajan Singh, co-organiser, is keen to exceed last year’s record of 80 students taking part . “The day offers Interaction with students from other universities, the chance to network and to learn about career opportunities with our expert panels. We will be testing clinical knowledge and soft skills and building on the success of last year with quizzes, scenarios and challenges that you will face in practice. The questions will be geared to first, second and third year student categories. Participants will also learn about how to get support throughout their pre-reg.”
This is the 6th year of Optoversity Challenge and last year £8,000 was raised for the partner charity Vision Care for Homeless People. Student fundraising was key to its success, with one team raising more than £2,000.
Top prize is a new Keeler ophthalmoscope and retinoscope, valued at around £1,500.
Laura Haverley, Head of UK Sales at Keeler is delighted to support the event –
“Vision Care for Homeless People is such a worthwhile charity and is very close to my heart”
