New Release – ES™ in-store finishing range

ES 800 Frontview

Essilor Instruments is revamping in-store finishing with its new ES™700 & ES™800 edgers

With decades of expertise in edging and mounting, as well as its lens and frames proficiency, Essilor Instruments has been a trusted pioneer in the finishing industry, committing itself to cutting-edge research, innovation, and serving Eye Care Professionals (ECPs) since 1954.

Today, Essilor continues building on that trust with the new ES™700 edger, ES™800 edger and the TCB 800™, Automatic Tracer-Centerer-Blocker (TCB): a new range of cutting-edge in-store finishing systems. Thanks to its compact design and ease-of-use, this new range will allow ECPs to save time and space while bringing their expertise and craftmanship to the forefront of their practice.

Simplified workflow. Enhanced productivity

For the new ES™ range, optimisation is the name of the game – improved precision and increased productivity, even when it comes to demanding eyewear. Thanks to its state-of-the-art technology, optical tracing time is reduced by up to 75%, blocking and centering time by up to 20% and edging time by up to 19%, through the implementation of the Fast-Roughing Cycle (FRC). Furthermore, the TCB 800™ automatically harmonises frame base trajectory and adjusts centering data based on 3D parameters, allowing for perfect tracing and ensuring the right fit.

Designed with ECPs and customers in mind

High quality materials and sleek modern silhouettes make the ES™ range an easy fit in any ECPs workspace, but its elegant design are far from its only asset – thanks to ergonomic multi-touch screens and an intuitive interface, ease-of-use is at the heart of this in-store finishing system. With custom user profiles, quick access to frequently used jobs and the TCB 800™’s large and regularly updated library of frame collections, personalisation is easier than ever.

Optimised Axis Precision

Thanks to real time control of cutting forces, the roughing cycle automatically adapts to the curves of lenses up to base 10 – this means mitigating axis deviation risks and optimising bevel placement and shelf depth for safer mounting.

Moreover, with ES™ 700M edger and ES™ 800M edger bringing together hybrid milling and grinding technology, ECPs can ensure absolute axis control, even for slippery, hydrophobic, and delicate lenses. Thanks to eco-friendly dry cut technology, they can also reduce wet lens waste and unwanted odors.

With ES™ 800 edger, ECPs are going to inspire their customers

Thanks to its M’Eye Custom™ web app, ES™ 800 edger offers ECPs the opportunity to engage customers with unique personalised eyewear style and an interactive shopping experience. They can easily engrave lens with M’Eye Sign™, customise lens shape with M’Eye Shape™, offer clip-on solutions with M’Eye Clip™, and even integrate cristal pavé with M’Eye Diamond™ – giving each pair a bespoke feel, enhancing customers connection to the product, and letting ECPs reveal their creativity.

Paul Cumber, Instruments director at EssilorLuxottica, said:

“Our new ES™700 & ES™800 edgers provide unparalleled edging and customisation at speed, making them an ideal investment for ECPs looking to upgrade and boost productivity in their own lab.

“The kit is also compact in size which is great for ECPs with limited space but still considering setting up a new in-house edging service in practice. Offering the service will help provide an extra competitive edge against other local opticians because ECPs can promise and deliver a faster service for patients.

“100% Optical provided the perfect platform to launch and demo the kit in the UK for the first time and for further help setting up or upgrading an in-house edging service, please speak to your Essilor business development manager who will be more than happy to help.”
