GOC suspends Leicester based dispensing optician
The General Optical Council (GOC), the UK regulator for optometrists and dispensing opticians, has decided to suspend Sherinjit Mahal, a dispensing optician based in Leicester, from its register for three months.
A GOC Fitness to Practise Committee found her fitness to practise impaired by reason of misconduct. This is in relation to the submission of an email to the GOC during a Continuing Education and Training (CET) dispute process containing altered and/or false CET information and claiming it was sent to her by her CET provider.
Ms Mahal has until 9 March 2023 to appeal against the decision.
