GOC erases Harrow based student dispensing optician

The General Optical Council (GOC), the UK regulator for optometrists and dispensing opticians, has decided to erase Naseem Suleman, a student dispensing optician based in Harrow, from its register.

A GOC Fitness to Practise Committee found her fitness to train impaired both on the grounds of public protection and in the wider public interest.

This is in relation to providing false GOC registration numbers to appear as a fully qualified Dispensing Optician and carrying out restrictive activities reserved for fully qualified Dispensing Opticians.

Ms Suleman has until 13 January 2023 to appeal the decision.
