It connects the optical and sight loss sectors to ensure patients with visual impairments receive the best experience and empowers you to confidently support them on the next step of their sight loss journey. You will receive 1 interactive CPD point/hour on completion.

We’ll discuss the principle causes of sight loss in children, adults and older people and the associated functional symptoms in initial and advanced stages. We’ll also consider accessibility challenges and how simple adjustments can resolve them.

You will also learn about support services and how to refer patients. As someone living with sight loss (RP), I’m able to provide an empathetic patient’s perspective, together with Jayshree Vasani, a qualified dispensing optician who is passionate about low vision.

It is relevant to all optical professionals including Optometrists, Dispensing Opticians, Ophthalmologists, Ophthalmic Nurses, Orthoptists, General Practitioners and non-clinical staff.
