AOP education hits the mark at 100% Optical
The AOP provided over 140 CPD accredited sessions, across 11 different hubs, from world-renowned speakers
100% Optical returned to the ExCeL London on 25–27 February, attracting a record-breaking 10,657 delegates, with AOP education sessions fully booked throughout the weekend.
Over the three days, optical professionals from all areas of the practice team took the opportunity to make the most of the world-leading education and trade exhibition.
Highlights at the show included Elizabeth Lumb, Director of Global Professional Affairs for myopia management at CooperVision, delivering Driving change to put the brakes on myopia, while Professor James Wolffsohn, recipient of the 2023 AOP’s Recognising research excellence award, and Head of the School of Optometry at Aston University, delivered a session on Photobiomodulation for the ocular surface.
Education at the AOP lounge was a hit with peer discussion sessions also enjoying full attendance, including AOP Head of Clinical and Regulatory, Henry Leonard’s lecture, Master your record keeping, and sessions delivered in partnership with Johnson & Johnson Vision and CooperVision.
Dr Ian Beasley, AOP Head of Education, said: “We’re thrilled with the results of this year’s event. Nine years later we’re still seeing the show go from strength to strength. Heading into our landmark 10th year, that speaks volumes about how much practitioners appreciate the opportunity to come together, meet hundreds of exhibitors, and consume education from world class speakers.”
Adam Sampson, AOP Chief Executive, reflected on the weekend: “This year’s show has been a phenomenal triumph. The one statement I heard time and time again is how the weekend really brings the profession together – we’re proud to help make that happen for our members.
“As the largest UK optical event, and with exhibitors already booking stands for next year, we are delighted to confirm our continued partnership with Media 10 to deliver 100% Optical until 2025.”
