AOP delivers world class education at record breaking 100% Optical
The AOP provided over 120 hours of CPD accredited sessions to thousands of delegates from 24 to 26 February
In a successful return to the ExCeL London, 100% Optical achieved record-breaking registrations with 11,725 delegates, up 10% since last year’s record levels of attendance and education sessions delivered by the Association of Optometrists (AOP).
As the show’s official education partner, the AOP offered optical professionals the opportunity to attend a comprehensive CPD programme of lectures, workshops and peer review sessions while networking with peers from all areas of practice.
Education highlights over the three days included Elizabeth Lumb, Director of Global Professional Affairs for myopia management at CooperVision’s session, Through their eyes – A journey of myopia management in children and Louisa Wickham, National Clinical Director for Eye Care. Representatives from the Eyes Have It partnership also delivered a well-attended session on Strategies for prevention – New opportunities across the eye care sector to prevent avoidable sight loss.
Content delivered at the AOP Lounge was popular among delegates, including sessions on contact lens selection, myopia management, and ultra-widefield multimodal retinal imaging reaching booking capacity throughout the weekend.
Dr Ian Beasley, AOP Head of Education, said: “We’re incredibly pleased with the success of this year’s 10th anniversary show. The record-breaking number of delegates that attended are testament to the show’s ability to provide world-class education at an excellent standard. It’s been a pleasure to hear from delegates that attended about how much they value the opportunity to learn from industry experts, network with colleagues and gain CPD points as the cycle reaches it’s third and final year.”
