ABDO opens applications for the 2024 Management, Leadership and Training courses
The Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) has opened applications for the first intake of 2024 of the Management, Leadership and Training (MLT) courses.
Launched in 2020, the series of training courses and qualifications is run in association with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) who also assess and award the qualification.
There are four courses available:
- Management and Leadership Diploma
- Continuing Improvement Certificate
- Growing Leader Certificate
- Management Essentials Certificate
ABDO Management and Leadership training is a great way to turn any informal learning into a recognised qualification through a course of study and assessment.
The qualification awarded by CMI is well recognised. Students get membership of CMI and access to the support and materials that they offer, including the fantastic ManagementDirect online resource. It is an ideal way for employers to develop existing managers and to train up those aspiring to a role in management.
ABDO training is via e-learning, removing the need for time away from the business to complete study. There will be optional workshops to allow students to extend their knowledge.
Head of corporate development, Nick Walsh, says, “Formal management and leadership development can be instrumental in growing a stronger team. As an employer, you will encourage better productivity and job satisfaction for your employees who are given such an opportunity.
“For individuals it can help you to stand out from the crowd by improving your CV with the addition of a formal qualification in management and leadership. It can also indicate to your current employers that you are ready to take on more responsibility.
Formal learning is a great way to hone your existing skills and learn new skills.
ABDO offer Level 5 qualifications through study towards either a diploma or a certificate which is awarded by the highly recognised Chartered Management Institute.”
Applications close 4 April 2024, study starts 1 May 2024.
