Companies flying the flag for the UK at SILMO 2022
We preview the Companies from the UK Sector that you can support at this year’s SILMO
Some are regular attendees and some like Eyespace are first timers.
If you enjoy the buzz at 100% in London then SILMO is the perfect opportunity to visit a larger congress and exhibition in the vicinity of Paris.
As regular visitors we find the simplest method of travel is Eurostar but of course we are based near London.
Staying near the Gare du Nord after a 2 hours 13 minute trip from St Pancras has many opportunities and transfer to the SILMO exhibition area is simple by train (RER) arriving at a dedicated rail station. (Around 20 minutes and regular)
It is also situated very close to CDG Airport and there are many hotels on the exhibition site. PARIS NORD VILLEPINTE. Parc des Expositions.
There is much to see and do at the exhibition and of course Paris awaits you so why not “mix and match” a family get away!
As the organisers state “The strength and appeal of trade fairs are still just as great: they promise encounters with clients and prospects, growth in turnover, and broader business horizons. They also offer the opportunity to take stock of the state of the sector, the reality of the market, and the new trends in terms of innovation and creation.”
It is also an opportunity to “Fly the Flag” and support our industry and here today we provide a UK Preview.
Eyewear’s House of British Brands Debuts at Silmo 2022
Hall 6, Stand D055
Eyespace, one of the UK’s leading optical suppliers, has announced it will debut at SILMO for the first time (23-26 September 2022, Hall 6, Stand D055). The company’s award winning in-house design studio has led British eyewear trends for the past decade and its appearance at the Paris exhibition marks a new milestone in the company’s global expansion.
A portfolio of over 1,000 eyewear designs is anchored by prestigious partnerships with iconic British Brands Land Rover, Range Rover and Aspinal of London.
Spearheaded by its ground breaking Eco-Conscious Eyewear collection, Eyespace is also the UK’s leading mainstream supplier for eco-friendly eyewear; 20% of products across all brands are now fully sustainable with the number rapidly growing year-on-year. In 2021,
Eyespace won the optical industry’s first Sustainability Award, having eliminated harmful single-use plastic packaging from its supply chain with all framebags now biodegradable to ISO 15985:14 and all sustainable frames supplied with biodegradable demo lenses. Innovative frame materials include G850 Rnew®, Econyl®, bio-acetate, recycled stainless steel and reclaimed ocean plastic.
All brands will showcase previously unseen optical launches at SILMO, with Range Rover unveiling a bold new direction in its men’s optical collection as a global exclusive. Eyespace will also offer an advance preview of 2023 sunwear collections for the first time.
The Land Rover Eyewear collection for men has been meticulously conceptualised and engineered in collaboration with Land Rover’s design team to authentically reflect the visual language of the unmistakable vehicles, becoming the best-selling branded men’s collection for UK optical chains in 2021. Spanning both optical and sunwear, the frames are modern, masculine and wearable with colours inspired by wild landscapes and a spirit of adventure and discovery.
Driven by design, the Range Rover Eyewear mens collection unites high performance technically advanced materials with contemporary frame design. Premium Japanese titanium and the finest Mazzucchelli acetate are meticulously sculpted into sophisticated minimalist lines. The aesthetic is unmistakably aligned to the exceptional luxury of each vehicle, translated in distinguished masculine colourways with super-lightweight construction and unparalleled comfort. Super-slim eyefronts, inline glazing and rimless frame design speak to modernity in every sense.
Aspinal of London’s eyewear collection is designed in parallel with the fashion house’s luxury leather goods. A foundation of iconic twentieth century style – from the streets of London to the unparalleled elegance of the French Riviera – is combined with the latest runway trends for a collection with unsurpassed fashion authority and exceptional craftsmanship. With an extensive following of celebrity fans including The Duchess of Cambridge, music artist Jennifer Lopez and supermodel David Gandy, the collection is as stylish as the high-profile devotees sporting the brand. Signature embellishments include subtle iterations of the Aspinal shield and precious detailing such as carefully crafted stitchwork, debossed crenilation, and pearl embellishments. The latest collection includes a range of sustainable models crafted from premium Italian bio-acetate and Econyl®.
A portfolio of seven house brands includes Cocoa Mint for women, Jensen for men and Rock
Star for children. These three flagship brands represent a unique creative point of view from the
Eyespace Design Studio and have become commercial leaders for the UK independent optician. Elsewhere, Basebox is a trend-led optical collection for men and women inspired by subversive urban street style, Louis Marcel is a specialist optical range for the progressive female wearer with warm metals and sparkling embellishments to lift the face, and Zips is an extensive collection of over 220 quality optical frames at the most accessible price points.
