Transitions Optical launches new Light Sensitivity Test

Transitions Optical launches new Light Sensitivity Test – dare to start the conversation about light.

Transitions Optical has introduced a new version of its Light Sensitivity Test to help consumers gain a deeper understanding of their light sensitivity and to promote conversations with eyecare professional on light management. Globally, 9 out of 10 people consider themselves light sensitive[1], which presents an opportunity to educate consumers on photochromic lenses as a light management solution. Online consumer searches for light-related concerns have significantly increased recently, however these searches are mainly for glasses rather than lenses[2].

Consumers and ECPs can access the updated Light Sensitivity Test online or via smartphone at Transitions.com/quiz. The update provides even more valuable, personal, and credible experience with features such as a light sensitivity score from 0-100 that determines the level of light sensitivity as well as a personal Transitions® lens recommendation. Within the results, users can also try on their Transitions lens recommendation using the Virtual Mirror tool and find a nearby practice to purchase with the store locator tool.

“The new Light Sensitivity Test is a great way for ECPs to introduce the conversation around light sensitivity and light management with their patients in a relatable way by discussing their lifestyle and day-to-day activities,” Charlotte Hamel, Global Marketing Vice President, Transitions Optical. “By helping consumers recognise different light situations or environments—such as excess blue light from screens or harsh glare from driving—they can then choose the best solution to better manage light with a personal Transitions lens recommendation.”
