The Specialist Club puts myopia in focus
The Specialist Club Myopia Day in Birmingham lastSunday, run by Positive Impact, attracted 40 practitioners keen to learn more about myopia management.
The lectures and workshops were awarded nine CPD points, with the keynote presentation by Professor Nicola Logan who reviewed the latest clinical data on myopia progression in children and young adults wearing commercially available spectacles and contact lenses.
Speaker Brian Tompkins (pictured) commented: “The myopia control element of optometry is rarely covered to the degree that was featured at the Myopia Day. It was nice to see so many there who were engaged with the concept and now have different thinking about it.
This emphasises that myopia management in practice has gone from correction to crucial.”
