Specialty lenses: unlock personal, practice and patients’ potential

Putting specialty contact lenses into practice, particularly CooperVisions’s EyeDream, driven by DreamLite® technology, was the message delivered to a packed audience interested in OrthoK at the BCLA breakfast meeting.

Katie Harrop, Senior Manager Global Professional Education, CooperVision, introduced the new 5.5mm optic zone lenses – EyeDream ® MC – as an additional option in the myopia control armoury, which may facilitate more plus power on the peripheral retina.

“Switching EyeDream® with its 6mm zone to EyeDream® MC is an easy step. There is no need for a washout or refit. The beauty is that this is a bespoke lens and we have added to the myriad of options available to the practitioner to adjust treatment to suit the patient’s lifestyle.

“Our advice is to start by targeting patients with a relatively low prescription, and to seek guidance from our experienced team – they have heard all the questions before and have the answers.”

EyeDream is a topography led OrthoK system which uses detailed corneal maps to produce bespoke lenses and to monitor the corneal changes post wear.
