A Hub of Meetings, Exchanges, and Sharing in Southeast Asia
SILMO Singapore, the ASEAN optical show, has had a positive outcome to its 2024 edition with the unveiling of the emblematic codes and values of SILMO. From April 24 to 26 at the Suntec Singapore Exhibition and Convention Centre, the event brought together professionals from the optical industry for three days of enriching exchanges.
Co-organized by SILMO International and MP Singapore, the exhibition attracted over 250 international and local brands, representing a diverse range of product families and categories within the optical and eyewear industry. The event welcomed nearly 2000 professionals, with a distribution of 55% Singaporean visitors and 45% international visitors.
The top five countries represented among international visitors were:
Australia: 29%
China: 20%
Malaysia: 18%
Indonesia: 15%
Philippines: 9%
Approximately 65% of visitors were optical retailers, and 20% were agents and/or distributors.
The traditional highlights of SILMO, such as the SILMO Academy, Trends Forum, SILMO Talks, and FUTUROLOGY, were key elements of this edition, providing valuable insights into upcoming innovations and trends in the optical sector.
FUTUROLOGY: A dedicated space focused on techno-responsibility, highlighting innovations that will gradually shape the future of optics and eyewear.
TRENDS FORUM: A deep dive into aesthetic trends and original styles in eyewear, following the seasonal rhythms and creative currents of fashion and design.
SILMO Talks: A forum where industry players share their experiences and discuss the future of their businesses, products, and distribution channels.
SILMO Academy: A conference for all optical and eyewear professionals, featuring global experts sharing best practices, new knowledge, and the latest innovations. The Academy’s program was designed by the International Opticians Association (IOA).
