Clinical Lead – NHS Engagement (Self-Employed) for RNIB

Job description

RNIB has an exciting opportunity for a self-employed Clinical Lead, joining a multidisciplinary team based across the UK working on the adoption and integration of the Eye Care Support pathway within health and social care settings.

The Clinical Lead will work alongside the Strategic Engagement Team NHS on the development of integrating non-clinical advice and support (Eye Care Support Pathway) within existing clinical pathways. Within the first 12 months, two integrated pathways, namely cataracts and retina, are expected to be completed, published and made available to the NHS.

We are looking for an experienced clinician who has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.

This contract would be for a period of two years and attracting up to 1.5 SPA per week subject to discussions (4-6 hours per week).

Who You Are

You will have a MBBS or Basic Medical Degree and hold a valid licence to practice. You will also be GMC registered and meeting the GMC requirements of “good medical practice”. You will also have a deep understanding of the NHS environment and its impact on ophthalmic services, staff and patients.

You will be an effective leader and have experience in change management. You will also have the ability to plan, develop and innovate ophthalmic services and pathways, and with a willingness to participate in and lead a multi-professional team.

As Clinical Lead, you will be a confident communicator, with previous experience of building rapport and credibility with clinical and nonclinical colleagues in the delivery of the eye care support pathway. You will also be able to collaborate constructively with internal and external partners.
