PHN to assist Sightsavers as Eye Health Partners
Primary Health Net Ltd publishers of both the professional Vision Site, Opchat News and the public information site Mylocaloptician are proud to have become Eye Health Partners of Sightsavers.
“We discussed at length with Sightsavers at 100% Optical how we could best help the Vision Charity in increasing the already large influence of the charity.” said Bob Hutchinson, CEO of PHN and Editor at Opchat News.
Sightsavers protect sight, fight disease and make sure everyone can claim their rights.
“My time as a practicing optometrist whilst Chair at FODO brought me in direct contact with the two major organisations providing public education and eventually I was Chair of Funding on what was eventually to become the Eyecare Trust, now a charity at the College. My enthusiasm in providing the information that is so desperately needed by those who misunderstand the importance of vision care in the UK was a key factor in PHN creating and promoting our public information site www.mylocaloptician.co.uk .
Sightsavers commitment to visual education and advocacy is on a wholly greater global platform and provides PHN with an opportunity to be involved with the promotion of its powerful and well-thought-out programme of activities.”
“I would recommend that our professional readers reacquaint themselves with Sightsavers role and activities firstly by visiting their website which gives a great overview of their activity and then seriously considering assisting by spreading the word or fundraising or donating.”
PHN intends to bring to the attention of its public readership with stories and publications on its Mylocaloptician.co.uk website throughout the coming year. We look forward to providing more information and stories to the Vision Sector on Opchat News.
