New Transitions® ‘Try On’ Tool Enhances Lens Journey

Transitions Optical, part of the EssilorLuxottica Group, has launched a new phydigital in-practice demo tool allowing consumers to virtually “try on” different Transitions® lens colours with their favourite frames.

While trying on frames in-store, wearers can use the Transitions® Color Match™ tool to compare options and confidently select their perfect combination – simply by scanning a QR code with their smartphone or in-practice iPad.

The demo tool uses augmented reality technology allowing patients to instantly see how the wide range of vibrant colours look during the different stages of transition, eliminating uncertainty and encouraging experimentation.

The tool also lets users share images on social media or with friends and family to get that all important second opinion before making a decision.

Tim Precious, General Manager UKI at EssilorLuxottica, said: “We can now superpower wearers’ glasses in the most stylish possible way and go beyond traditional correction for patients by prescribing ultra-dynamic lenses, rather than static clear ones.

“We want to help opticians enhance their patients’ lives – where the question is no longer if they want Transitions® lenses, but which colour they choose.

“Personalisation takes centre stage with the new Transitions® Color Match™ tool, which revolutionises the lens selection journey and removes any second-guessing from the process.

“It also provides eye care professionals with an innovative, interactive way to engage their patients. With endless lens and frame pairings, it transforms the entire decision-making process into an exciting, seamless experience – offering a fun, interactive approach that sets practices apart.”

Transitions® GEN S™ is available in eight beautiful colours, including a trendy ruby tone, that combine faster light adaptation with stronger style options to appeal to a new generation of wearers.

Top three ways to colour pair:

  • Tone-on-tone: This is the easiest way to pair Transitions® GEN S™ by matching the lens colour to the frame colour for a tone-on-tone look.
  • Colour blending: To create a more subtle two-tone look, choose colours next to each other on the colour wheel so the lens and frame blend together.
  • Colour contrast: If you want to make your lenses pop and create a much bolder style statement, opt for contrasting colours by choosing opposite colours for the lens and frames on the colour wheel.
