MEI at SILMO Paris 2024

MEI will exhibit again this year at SILMO Paris, presenting the new Easy Buddy: an automated system that, with its integrated cobot, feeds the EasyFit Trend machine with increasing independence from manual interventions, enhancing productivity.

Easy Buddy is the lab operator everyone would like to have. It is precise, never gets tired, and allows opticians to concentrate on things more important than feeding their lens edging machine.

Easy Buddy can manage up to five trays at the entrance and five at the exit. Additionally, it is possible to add an automatic stacker-destacker system or connect to external conveyors to further increase the production’s autonomy. The trays’ loading and unloading do not affect the machine’s operations, and EasyFit remains always available for manual intervention if necessary. Thus, the operator can prepare the jobs through the LMS (lab management system), an offline station, or directly on the machine.

Easy Scan, the integrated pre-inspection scan device, allows Easy Buddy to analyze the lenses before the edging, including polarization, to place the lens into the EasyFit Trend in the perfect position without any human intervention. Easy Buddy is fully compatible with EasyFit Trend and EZFit NoBlock.

The new MEI compressor Air2Go, with its compact design, will supply air connection to the machines at the MEI booth (Hall 6, Booth M175).
