LOCSU has released a new podcast which offers tips on succession planning for LOCs.
LOCSU’s Digital Learning Support Officer Simone Mason chats to Lyndon Taylor who has recently retired following more than four decades in optometry, and to fellow optometrist and member of Cheshire LOC Fionnuala Kidd.
Together with her guests, Simone unpicks the importance of succession planning, the importance of LOC roles, and top tips to draw people to a Committee. The podcast provides food for thought and suggestions to inform your own LOC’s future succession plan.
LOCSU recognise the importance of a thriving LOC and is working closely with LOCs, optical sector bodies, universities and training providers to attract and support the LOC leaders of the future. This podcast forms part of a large piece of work and toolkit LOCSU is developing to support LOCs in attracting new Committee members and succession planning to key roles to ensure continuity and resilience in the vital work LOCs undertake.
