LINDA FARROW X PEOPLES FROM BARBADOS launch second collaboration edition
The Bajan-infused sunglass edition has been presented at a launch event at EYE Q Stylist Opticians, Barbados
The stunning Peoples from Barbados (PFB) custom collaboration series continues with the world-renowned British luxury eyewear brand, Linda Farrow, and the release of a new luxurious unisex design for 2024.
Continuing the evocative theme of light and colour in the Bajan sunsets of the first edition by studying the nuances of the light of day, the collaboration design represents a new and vibrant interpretation of a timeless classic at Linda Farrow, with a squared unisex eye shape, finished to perfection according to the advanced quality and design standards of the Linda Farrow brand.
The frame has been selected for its timeless, versatile style, ideal for many face shapes, and its outstandingly comfortable fit thanks to the precise shaping of the nose bridge – an advanced detail that perfectly suits the diversity of the Barbados demographic.
Designed for PFB in 3 custom colorways of sorrel, caramel or emerald green, the gradient colour effects on the temples of the design have been developed with particular attention to detail, radiating with the light effects and colours of three different moments in the day – early morning, mid-day and evening, on the Caribbean island’s paradisiacal shores. Linda Farrow’s intricate and eye-catching 18K gold plated ring decorates the temple, designed to add luxury allure, balance and functionality, for the wearer who wishes to add a jewellery chain to their style.
“My dream has come true with this second collaboration edition with Linda Farrow, which continues our story of glamour and Bajan soul,” said Alicia Hartman, Optometrist Owner of EYE Q Stylist Opticians, and Founder of the independent eyewear brand, Peoples from Barbados. “This chic statement sunglasses edition – created with the prestigious knowhow of Linda Farrow, radiates with the beauty of our island, evolving our ‘Peoples from Barbados’ adventure through an innovative interpretation of the natural colours of the Bajan light of day. It has been my great pleasure once again to work closely with Simon Jablon and the team at Linda Farrow, creating a new edition that is powerful and strong, the utmost expression of luxury in natural light-inspired tones.”
Simon Jablon, Owner and Creative Director of Linda Farrow said, “We are delighted to continue our collaboration for the second year in a row as the Peoples from Barbados brand shares the same playful and defiant spirit that Linda Farrow prides itself on. We look forward to working with them for years to come!”
A NEW ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN: ON LOCATION AT BATTS ROCK
An advertising campaign featuring the new collaborative sunglass edition was shot during early morning, mid-day and early evening at La Cabane and the spectacular beach of Batts Rock on the west coast of Barbados – a location that perfectly captures the splendour of the island’s sandy beaches, turquoise crystal waters and brilliant blue skies. The female protagonist exudes strength and elegance, taking a well-deserved break from her hectic creative lifestyle to unwind in Barbados. Vibrant blues and warm reds complement her commanding poses, with the location serving as a muted backdrop for the distinctive colour combinations and the elegant details of the sunglass design.
The sunglasses edition was previewed during a special festive event in mid-December (2023) at EYE Q Stylist Opticians in Holetown, Barbados, the optical boutique owned by Alicia Hartman and one of the Caribbean’s most prestigious luxury eyewear destinations.
The LINDA FARROW X PEOPLES FROM BARBADOS Edition 2024 has been created as a limited run of just 150 custom-made sunglasses/blue light blocking glasses, available in three exotic colorways: sorrel, caramel and emerald green, and paired with the graduated temple tones, bringing the beautiful Bajan-infused spirit to each and every frame.
Alicia Hartman first launched Peoples from Barbados as a Special Edition tribute collection at her luxury store EYE Q Stylist Opticians in 2016 to mark the island’s 50th Anniversary of independence. Since that time the collection has grown and expanded and is now stocked in unique optical and fashion stores around the world. Charitable projects have been a focus for the brand which also gives back to the community through special collaborations with local artists, photographers and creatives of the island.
The Peoples from Barbados (PFB) collection is available at EYE Q Stylist Opticians in Barbados and through fine eyewear boutiques and concept stores in NYC, London, Miami and Jamaica.
