GPs can request GOC registrants to complete DVLA questionnaires

GPs now able to request DVLA questionaires where appropriate from GOC Registrants 

In the legislation now enacted GOC registrants will at the request of GPs  will be able to complete DVLA medical questionnaires.

As will other healthcare professionals,  when a GP decides this would be appropriate.

The law change aims to speed up the medical licensing process and reduce the burden on GPs.

DVLA will still send the medical forms to GMC doctors and consultants, notifying them when a driver declares a medical condition. However, doctors can now decide which healthcare professional in practice to refer it for completion.
