GOC suspends Chertsey based optometrist from register
The General Optical Council (GOC), the UK regulator for optometrists and dispensing opticians, has decided to suspend Tajinder Ghattaora, an optometrist based in Chertsey, from its register for two months.
A GOC Fitness to Practise Committee found his fitness to practise impaired by reason of misconduct. This is in relation to submitting fraudulent claims to his private health insurance provider using falsified receipts belonging to patients.
Mr Ghattaora has until 10 November to appeal against his suspension.
