GOC erases Wembley based optometrist from register
The General Optical Council (GOC), the UK regulator for optometrists and dispensing opticians, has decided to erase Ibrar Ahmed, an optometrist based in Wembley, from its register.
A GOC Fitness to Practise Committee found his fitness to practise impaired by reason of misconduct.
This is in relation to sexually inappropriate behaviour towards a patient and colleagues on different occasions between 2020 and 2021.
Mr Ahmed has until 17 April 2024 to appeal against his erasure, during which time he is suspended from the register under an immediate suspension order.
