GOC erases London based optometrist from register
The General Optical Council (GOC), the UK regulator for optometrists and dispensing opticians, has decided to erase Sundeep Kaushal, an optometrist based in London, from its register.
A GOC Fitness to Practise Committee found his fitness to practise impaired by reason of a criminal conviction. In February 2025, he was convicted of making indecent photographs of a child contrary to the Protection of Children Act 1978 and possessing an extreme pornographic image contrary to the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008.
Mr Kaushal has until 5 December 2025 to appeal against his erasure, during which time he is suspended from the register under an immediate suspension order.
