Essilor extends online frame library with iconic brands
Essilor Ltd has introduced a selection of new luxury eyewear brands to its ordering portal, eStore, allowing ECPs to combine and order pre-cut lenses with a wider choice of frames at the click of a button.
The library offers instant access to 80,000 optical frame shapes with some of the best loved consumer eyewear brands now available including Ray-Ban, Oakley®, Persol®, Tiffany, Oliver Peoples, Prada, Emporio Armani and Polo Ralph Lauren.
Alan Pitcher, commercial director for wholesale lenses said: “We’ve extended the frames library within the online lens ordering platform, offering ECPs a quicker and more convenient alternative to ordering uncut lenses and glazing them in practice or scanning frames to place remote edge orders.
“It’s a greatly enhanced service for optical practices, which is easy to use, with no additional or hidden costs. Also, with the summer holiday season fast approaching, practice managers could consider using it as a solution for holiday cover if their optical practice tends to offer in-house glazing.”
ECPs can now order spectacles for patients by selecting the brand, model, size, and colour of the frame and combining it with the lens type, shape, and edging, before viewing an image of the chosen combination on screen and placing the order.
The service is available on Essilor’s full range of lenses including Varilux®, Eyezen®, Essilor Stellest™ lenses, Transitions® and is open to all Essilor lens customers who access online ordering via EssilorPro.
ECP case study
Jonathan Donoghue, dispensing optician at Optique Opticians in Galway said: “We find the eStore portal very useful. It is easy to use and because it only lets you order lenses which are available for prescription there is less likely to be mistakes.
“Also, having more shapes available is a definite advantage as it gives us the option to order lenses for Luxottica frames without having the frame in stock. This is useful as Oakley® and Ray-Ban are two of our most popular brands and we often run out of stock of these frames. By having the lenses ready when the frame arrives, it cuts down on delivery time for the patient too.”
