Day four of National Eye Health Week 2023.

Today we’ll be highlighting how the quality of your vision can affect your mental health.

Thursday’s theme is about vision and mental health

 

Vision Matters (NEHW) will sharing an exclusive interview with sight loss champion and winner of BBC TVs Race Across the World (season 3), Tricia Sail.

 

 

Research[1] conducted by the charity in association with Thomas Pocklington Trust found eye health often affects our emotions and mental well-being.

More than half of us (55%) say our vision has affected our emotional state. Common feelings triggered by our visual ability include: anxiety, frustration and stress.

We’ll be encouraging people to practce self care by having regular eye tests to help keep their mind and body healthy and sharing details of the NHS Every Mind Matters campaign which has links to mental health services and charities that provide support for anyone struggling with their mental health.
