CooperVision launches MyDay® MiSight® 1 day: its latest Contact Lens for Myopia Control.

Innovation Combines Advanced Silicone Hydrogel Material with Proven
ActivControl® Technology.*1

CooperVision today announced the launch of MyDay® MiSight® 1 day contact lenses, its latest innovation with ActivControl® Technology designed to slow the worsening of myopia in children.†2,3 The new product combines the advanced silicone hydrogel material of MyDay® lenses with the proven ActivControl® Technology found in original MiSight® 1 day lenses.*1

Elizabeth Lumb, Director, Global Professional Affairs, Myopia at CooperVision, explained the significance of the launch: “One in two children born today could have myopia by the age of 20,4 which can significantly impact their quality of life—making it harder to participate in school, sports and other activities.5,6 Myopia can worsen rapidly, especially in younger children, so early intervention is important.7

Our commitment to tackling myopia—both scientifically and commercially—has been unwavering. With MyDay® MiSight® 1 day, we’ve brought together the advanced silicone hydrogel material found in our MyDay® contact lenses with the life-changing potential of myopia control.*1

The company’s ActivControl® Technology has been shown to cut the worsening of myopia by approximately 50% and is backed by the longest-running soft contact lens clinical trial among children.†‡2,3 More than 200,000 children globally now wear contact lenses featuring this technology.8 The lens design incorporates vision correction zones and treatment zones  to provide clear vision while helping to control the worsening of myopia.‡1,3,9

The new product offers better comfort and handling features compared with original MiSight® 1 day:§9

  • Preferred for comfort compared to the original MiSight® 1 day9
  • Up to four times the oxygen transmissibility of a hydrogel one-day lens
  • Built-in UV blocking**
  • Rated easier to apply compared to the original MiSight® 1 day.9

Chithra Dhanabalan, Professional Affairs Manager, UK&I at CooperVision, added: “This innovation delivers ‘always-on’ myopia control—children benefit from treatment throughout the day, simply by wearing their contact lenses.††3,9,10 It’s also designed to help support a smooth transition from myopia management to adult lens wear, thanks to its shared material and specifications with MyDay® lenses.‡‡

To support eye care professionals, CooperVision offers a suite of business tools including OptiExpert™, the Axial Length Estimator and QuickStart e-learning accreditation—all available at no cost. In-practice marketing materials are also available on request. §§♢♢
