The new President of the BCLA will highlight the “fears and opportunities” in the contact lens industry as part of the first face-to-face address to members in four years.

Rakesh Kapoor will use his Presidential Address at The Royal College of Physicians in London on Wednesday, 29 November to discuss the results of a survey conducted among ECPs, while exploring how the contact lens business operates in other countries and what practitioners can learn from them.

Entitled ‘Insights and Visions: A Practitioner’s Perspective on the Future of the Contact Lens Industry in the UK’ – the event sees the return of an in-person Presidential Address for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr Kapoor said: “Leading the BCLA is a huge honour and I look forward to hosting this Presidential Address where I will be sharing data that will help shape the future of our profession.

“Learning from each other is a vital part of how we can continue to evolve and improve and there are some fascinating insights from around the world.

“Being able to bring the profession together in-person at an event like this is hugely important and I can’t wait to welcome everyone to such a prestigious location – it’s going to be a night to remember, and I urge you all to reserve your place to avoid missing out.”

Registrants are also invited to the President’s three-course dinner which will take place immediately after the lecture. Limited spaces are available, with registration now open.

BCLA members can book now for £50 plus VAT, while the price for non-members is £75 plus VAT.

A drinks reception will be held on arrival from 6.30pm before a one-hour lecture starting at 7.00pm. The dinner will be held from 8.00pm.
