BCLA Fellowship submissions now open for 2025
Invitations are open to join a select group of more than 220 leading eye care professionals across the globe by applying to become a BCLA Fellow.
The BCLA Fellowship scheme recognises a member’s esteem in the field of contact lenses and the anterior eye. It allows them to use the postnominals FBCLA, highlighting their commitment to the Association and significant contributions they have made to eye care.
Since the scheme was launched in 2006, more than 220 professionals from the international community of contact lens industry and practice have become BCLA Fellows following portfolio and viva voce assessment.
BCLA Fellowship lead Sonia Travé-Huarte said: “Our Fellowship programme aims to highlight the work of passionate eye care professionals and their commitment to innovation, research and life-changing vision care. We look forward to many high-quality applications and welcoming the latest intake of BCLA Fellows.”
Submissions for 2025 are now open. Fellowships will be presented at the BCLA Clinical Conference and Exhibition in Birmingham next June. The deadline for submission is 29 November 2024.
To gain a Fellowship of the BCLA, members of the Association (excluding online and student members) must be awarded 50 points by the lead assessor and subsequently satisfy the panel of their contact lens and / or anterior eye credentials in an oral assessment based on the evidence presented.
