Body Doctor donation for suicide charity

Donation with the goal of helping to prevent suicide in men

The Body Doctor Ltd, manufacturer of The Eye Doctor range, donated three Directors Box tickets to the suicide prevention charity, AndysManClub, for the Huddersfield Town Association Football Club game against Coventry on Saturday (4 March).

The Huddersfield-based eyecare company is an association partner of the club which supports the charity that aims to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health by offering free weekly support groups for men.

AndysManClub was set up by Andy’s mum, Elaine Roberts and his brother-in-law, Luke Ambler, after his death at 23 and raises awareness that suicide is the biggest killer of men under 45. With the slogan, ‘it’s okay to talk’ the award-winning charity now has nearly 100 clubs.

The Body Doctor’s Sales and Marketing Director, Sam Wymer, said: “As a family business, we believe in supporting our local community and especially local charities. AndysManClub does amazing work and raising awareness of mental health is important to us, not just as a business, but to us all personally. We are very proud to support them in this small way.”

AndysManClub’s Partnership Manager, Neil Wayne, said: “We were honoured to attend the Coventry fixture as guests of The Body Doctor and are humbled by their support of AndysManClub. We are really proud of what we do as an organisation and the relationship we have, not only with Huddersfield Town, but also their partners. The Body Doctor company was founded in 2012 by entrepreneur Sue Grant and her two sons, Adam and Sam Wymer. The vision of the business was, and continues to be, to devise, develop and supply innovative solutions that focus on promoting and optimising eye health.
