Seeing is Believing:
Newmedica and Sight Research UK reunite for festive fundraiser to fight sight loss
This December, Sight Research UK is thrilled to announce the return of its impactful partnership with leading eye care provider Newmedica for a second year of festive fundraising. Donations made from this year’s “Seeing is Believing” campaign will go towards vital future research projects that combat sight loss.
Following the overwhelming success of last year’s initiative, which raised an incredible £25,135 for sight-saving research, Newmedica has once again pledged to match every donation made to the campaign, pound for pound up to £10,000, until 31 December 2025.
“At Sight Research UK, we’re delighted to be partnering with Newmedica for our ‘Seeing is Believing’ festive campaign,” says Lucy Culkin, Chief Executive of Sight Research UK.
“In this season of giving, it’s the perfect time to shine a bright light on the importance and potential of sight-saving research. Thanks to Newmedica’s generosity, every gift donated until 31 December will be matched penny for penny, up to the value of £10,000. So, this Christmas, please consider giving a gift of vision by fuelling life-changing advancements towards the treatment and prevention of sight loss. Your gifts help bring hope into focus for millions.”
Newmedica, which provides specialist NHS and private eye care to over 165,000 patients annually across more than 30 locations in England, shares this mission.

“Last Christmas, we teamed up with Sight Research UK to help raise funds for important sight-saving research,” adds Peter Bainbridge, Managing Director at Newmedica.
“I’m excited to share that we’re supporting their ‘Seeing is Believing’ campaign again this year. As an ophthalmology provider, we care deeply about eye health and making a difference. This Christmas, we’ll match donations up to £10,000 to encourage even more support in the fight against sight loss. We’re proud to work with Sight Research UK to help protect and restore vision across the country.”
