The Inter-Livery Pancake Race

 

 

 

Yesterday, the Master, Fiona Anderson, took part in the Worshipful Company of Poulters’ 22nd Annual hashtag inter-Livery Pancake Race in Guildhall Yard.

Although she didn’t win her heat, she very much enjoyed the occasion and the opportunity to take part in this now-longstanding and bizarre Livery tradition.

She was cheered on by members of the Company as she raced to the finish line, hat and pancake intact.

Fiona was later interviewed by journalism students and a French radio station (France Inter), helping to shed some light on this event, and highlight the role of modern Livery Companies.
