OSA Autumn meeting brings insights from optical chain
Insights from optical chain purchasing will be a key element of the OSA coming Autumn Meeting in London on Tuesday 17 October.
Dr Angela Smith, Optical Commercial Manager at Asda, and a keen advocate of an efficient supply chain, will be speaking to the supplier delegates and sharing her thoughts –
“The main two things on my mind at the moment are the cost of living, and our impact on the planet. I believe there is a series of small actions that, when combined, can help materially reduce both of those things more than most people realise,” she said.
Angela, who has been with the Asda group for 11 years, previously worked for Unilever as a European Quality Manager, and prior to this had been a research scientist exploring environmental science and sustainability.
Additionally, MHRA, DICOM and E-Health strategy in optometry and ophthalmology will be reviewed, with details of the recently formed NHS working group. Consolidating the industry response to national guidelines is an important aspect of moving the adaption of technology forward believes the OSA, which is encouraging all businesses involved in this sector to attend.
With 100% Optical just a few months away, there will be a preview and discussion around the show’s progression into ophthalmology, and how best to unite all aspects of the industry and profession.
As Roy Stoner, OSA Chair, said, “The insights, and opportunities to have your say about the future of our industry, come together at these regional meetings – they are a great forum for generating ideas to work together on so many issues. We hope to see a good gathering at Friends House, with OSA members bringing along colleagues who look after their sustainability and E-Health strategies,” added Roy.”
