Brothers Marathon mission in honour of late father

Brothers Marathon mission in honour of late father

Brothers Sam and Adam Wymer, the co-founders of the award-winning Yorkshire healthcare company, The Body Doctor, have announced that they will be taking on the London Marathon in 2026 in memory of their father, Maurice Wymer, who sadly died two years ago, just four weeks after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Describing their father as their ‘hero, inspiration and best mate,’ the brothers are channelling their grief into purpose, determined to raise both awareness and vital funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK, supporting earlier diagnosis and better treatment for patients in the future.

“Dad wasn’t a runner and neither are we, but he believed in hard work, determination and giving anything a proper go,” said Sam Wymer. “So here we are, running in his honour, hoping to make a difference.”

Together Sam and Adam have set themselves the ambitious goal of raising £10,000, or more, to help Pancreatic Cancer UK give families more time, more hope and a fighting chance against one of the hardest cancers to detect early.

In a heartfelt tribute to their father’s Kiwi roots, the brothers will carry a New Zealand flag across the finish line as a symbol of their family’s strength, unity and determination.

“Watching how quickly pancreatic cancer took hold was devastating,” added Adam Wymer. “If we can help even one family by supporting research into earlier diagnosis, then every mile will be worth it.”

Sam concluded: “Anyone can achieve anything if they set your mind to it. This one’s for you, Dad, we’ll see you at the finish line.”
