ESSILOR introduces EYEZEN KIDS

ESSILOR introduces EYEZEN KIDS

Essilor Ltd has launched a new spectacle lens to give children the visual comfort and protection they need.

Eyezen KidsNew Eyezen Kids is an optimised single lens specifically designed for six to 12-year-olds. Using DualOptim technology, it aligns target points for distance and near vision, and brings children a much wider clear vision area across the lenses.

The DualOptim Kids technology takes children’s parameters including morphology, object distance and gaze directions into account to optimise the lens design.

This provides +60% more optimal lens area than a standard SV lens with 60% less aberrations in the lower area of the lens.

Tim Precious, managing director at Essilor Ltd said: “The lens has been independently tested and will make the lives of children easier by providing greater visual performance.

“It considers two reference points to optimise the surface of the lens for all children’s gaze directions – not only for the centre of the lens – while maintaining their prescription.

“It takes into consideration that children have different facial features to adults and shorter arms so view objects at a closer distance.

“The lens is designed to support this age group as they undergo high visual demands including learning to read and write.

Furthermore, with lockdown leading to a surge in screen time and the use of digital devices at school and at home, it is becoming increasingly important to provide children with a solution suitable for any situation for their multiple daily activities.

“Extending our Eyezen range to include a design for children will help ECPs support the visual needs of the whole family and look after this younger age group by offering them the best visual solution.”

POS and marketing are available to support the launch in-store including patient leaflets and A2 posters.

The Eyezen range now covers all patients’ needs from the age of six to 50 years old:

• New Eyezen kids for six to 12-year-olds.
• Eyezen Start provides better visual performance and comfort for patients aged 12 to 39 years old who experience light to moderate visual fatigue.
• Eyezen Boost offers optimal support for 18 to 50-year-olds who contend with high visual fatigue.

A new patient guarantee launches on 1 September for patients who purchase any Eyezen lens.

They will benefit from a 12-month guarantee and if they are not 100% happy, they can bring them back and exchange them against another new pair of lenses free of charge.
