Webinar to help improve customer experience of contact lens patients

7pm to 8pm on Wednesday, 6 November 2024.

The typical journey of a new contact lens patient will be the topic of discussion at a forthcoming BCLA webinar aimed at improving the customer experience.

CooperVision Professional Affairs Consultant Samantha Watson will lead the session, which takes place from 7pm to 8pm on Wednesday, 6 November 2024.

Little research has been undertaken to understand the initial part of the contact lens journey with reference to how patients may feel, along with the consequences that a protracted experience may provide.

This webinar, delivered by CooperVision, will examine recent research balancing opinions from eyecare professionals and patients to better understand the process and consider where practical solutions can be found to improve efficiencies in practice and enable an outstanding patient contact lens experience.

Samantha Watson is a BCLA Fellow and contact lens optician with vast experience in practice across a wide range of roles including management. She has completed a PGCE teacher training degree and is keen to initiate engaging and empowering education.

She said: “Contact lenses open the door to many opportunities for wearers but can be problematic early in that journey towards contact lens adoption both for patient and practice.

“New research sheds light on the perspectives from a patient, prospective patient and practice staff. This offers the chance to pin-point barriers and enables practical suggestions to overcome these obstacles for contact lens adoption.”
