100% Optical and Ophthalmology sold by Media 10

In a surprise announcement this week it was announced that 100% Optical in its 12th year after creation with Media 10 has been sold to Closer Still Media.

Key personnel within the 100% team are to join the new business with the same duties so it is said that those working with 100% will see no changes.

This includes the 10 year contract 100% Optical has with the Optical Suppliers Association providing the OSA with a guaranteed income from each show  with an agreed yearly inflationary uplift in the fees.

The announcement was made at the latest OSA meeting this week when 100% were describing next years show in early March 2024.

Closer Still Media run many international shows including Pharma and Dentistry.

Opchat News published by Primary Health Net Ltd will continue for the 12th year to be Media Partners of 100% Optical and look forward to a continuing close relationship with Closer Media. The OSA has welcomed the new owners of 100% Optical, and looks forward to working with CLOSER STILL, following Media 10’s sale of the largest UK optical event.

Final plans for 100% Optical, 1-3 March 2025, along with the burgeoning 100% Ophthalmology, are advanced.  The floorplan, lectures and seminars are booked out.  The OSA is expecting the show to be the most important event of the optical calendar for the profession and for OSA members who supply the equipment and technology for the world’s most advanced eyecare.

CloserStill Media purchase of 100% Optical welcomed by AOP

The Association of Optometrists (AOP) has welcomed news that 100% Optical, the UK’s annual optical trade show, has been acquired by specialist events business, CloserStill Media. The purchase has been agreed with events company Media 10, who set up 100% Optical in 2014.

 

The AOP is the trade show’s official UK partner, having supported the event since its launch. The AOP’s journal, Optometry Today, is the media partner for the event as is OpchatNews .
