Ezra experiences rapid growth with the launch of 11 new UK sites and new open MRI scan

AI-enabled advanced MRI service accelerates national rollout and development of faster, more accessible scan options as demand for proactive health screening grows.

London: Ezra, the health-tech company transforming early cancer detection with AI-enabled MRI scans, today announces a significant national expansion just eight months after launching in the UK.
Six new diagnostic sites open this month – including Manchester, Newcastle and Glasgow, with another five to follow in early 2026 – taking its total to 11 sites across the country.
Ezra, which launched in the UK this year with a 60minute AI MRI scan, has now widened its UK offering with two major service innovations designed to make advanced imaging more accessible and more comfortable for patients.

The company has begun rolling out its fastest scan yet in Manchester, Newcastle, Taunton and Sidcup with a new 22-minute multi-organ MRI (£1,495). This shorter scan still covers up to 13 major organs using non-contrast MRI imaging, providing a rapid, screening-led assessment designed for people who want a faster way to gain broad insights into their internal health.

At the same time, Ezra will also introduce its first Open MRI service in West Kensington. Unlike conventional enclosed MRI tunnels, an Open MRI uses a wider, open-sided scanner that delivers the same type of MRI imaging while providing significantly more comfort for people who experience claustrophobia, anxiety or reduced mobility. This offers a clinically robust alternative for patients who may otherwise avoid or delay important imaging because of discomfort or fear.
The expansion highlights a clear shift in how UK citizens want to manage their health.

Demand for imaging-led preventative screening is rising, NHS diagnostic capacity remains stretched, and early detection is increasingly seen as a practical route to better outcomes. By adding more sites and shorter scan options, Ezra is positioning itself to make advanced screening available to far more people across the country.

Recently, Function Health, the US healthcare group that acquired Ezra earlier this year, closed a major $298 million Series B funding round, valuing the company at $2.5 billion. This significant capital raise underscores strong investor confidence in Function Health’s ambition to scale preventive diagnostics globally and supports Ezra’s aggressive expansion across the UK, including the rollout of new scanning sites, broader geographic coverage and development of faster, more accessible MRI scan options.
Addressing the UK’s early detection gap
In the UK, 392,000 people are diagnosed with cancer each year, and half of cancers are diagnosed at late stages, when treatment options are more limited. A recent YouGov survey commissioned by Ezra found that one in three Britons worry about cancer, yet only 4% have ever invested in a preventative health scan.
Ezra’s AI-supported MRI aims to close that gap by scanning for hundreds of conditions across up to 13 organs, including the brain, liver, kidneys, spine, prostate, uterus, and more, using non-contrast MRI, which carries no radiation risk.
Every scan is read by a consultant radiologist, and findings are categorised using Ezra’s E-SCORE system, designed to help patients understand which findings require routine monitoring versus urgent follow-up.
AI that reduces scan time and improves reporting

Ezra uses FDA-cleared AI tools in its imaging workflow. The AI does not replace radiologists; instead, it supports them by speeding up image analysis and improving report efficiency. This also enables shorter scan protocols, a key driver in reducing cost over time.
Emi Gal, Founder & CEO, Ezra, says: “Early detection saves lives, yet access to advanced imaging is uneven and often too slow. As national discussions continue around how to, or infact whether or not to introduce population-level screening for conditions like prostate cancer, people still need practical ways to understand their health risks today. Our goal is simple: make high-quality, multi-organ MRI accessible to as many people as possible.”
Dr Dan Brook, UK Medical Director, Ezra, comments: “The UK is facing real challenges in detecting serious illness early. Advanced MRI scans with AI assistance gives us a broader, safer and speedier view of the body using a single non-contrast scan. At a time when national screening pathways remain uncertain timely access to reliable imaging becomes even more important, particularly for those with family history or elevated risk. More Brits must get checked, our aim is to make it more accessible”

The company’s UK rollout is delivered through partnerships with leading imaging providers, including Alliance Medical, Visit Health, Vital Scan, and Lanarkshire Private Clinic, bringing Ezra’s technology into established clinical settings nationwide.
A little more about Ezra:

Founded in 2018 by serial entrepreneur Emi Gal, Ezra combines AI technology with medical expertise to revolutionise cancer screening. The company has raised $45m in funding, including a recent $21m round led by Healthier Capital. In May 2025, Function Health acquired Ezra in the USA and is launching an MRI scan with an FDA-cleared AI that cuts scan time from 60 minutes to 22 minutes, and $1500 to $499. With Ezra now available in the UK, the combined companies are continually evaluating opportunities to bring their health monitoring solutions to a global audience.
