Optical businesses seek out support of OSA
OSA – the single source of guidance around E-Health, sustainability and legislation surrounding medical devices for optical suppliers – saw new members signing up to join at 100% Optical.
“The demands of running a business are significant in today’s climate and the value of the OSA’s great resource of wisdom and monitoring of legislative change was recognised at 100% Optical. Many companies – large and small – sought us out to discuss the benefits that membership brings,” said Roy Stoner, OSA Chair.
Networking was in full flow at the OSA stand, with visitors keen to hear more about the specific focus groups for Frames, Lenses, Technology + Instruments, and E-Health. With sustainability underpinning all aspects of optics, the OSA’s glossary and soon to be released Green Charter were a major draw for potential new members.
“Forward looking optical businesses sought out advice during the three days of the show, and many were surprised to learn that they fell within the definition of providing a medical device and all that this entails with regard to changing legislation. Our meeting rooms on the stand were free for members to use and this was of great value for many.
“The OSA is a central repository of trust at a time of rapid change, and our diverse clinical and business speakers on the OSA stand provided an insight as to what we bring for members. The community of optics was very evident at the show with an abundance of goodwill to work together.”
