EssilorLuxottica beats revenue forecasts as myopia management grows
EssilorLuxottica reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of €7,486 million, up 9.0% year-on-year at current exchange rates, or 7.2% at constant exchange rates. The result exceeded the €7.36 billion analyst consensus compiled by Visible Alpha, according to Reuters.
For optical professionals, myopia management was a standout: the group reported 24% revenue growth at constant exchange rates in both the quarter and the first nine months. Its traditional eyecare and medtech business, excluding wearables, grew by more than 6% over both periods.
Direct-to-consumer revenue increased 10.6% at constant exchange rates, with comparable-store sales up 6.8%. Professional Solutions grew more modestly, at 3.4%, against double-digit growth a year earlier.
Wearables, including AI glasses and Nuance Audio hearing glasses, recorded 20% revenue growth. Reuters reported a marked slowdown from nearly 100% growth in smart-glasses sales in the preceding quarter, partly reflecting tougher year-on-year comparisons.
For UK readers, these are global group figures, not a measure of domestic optical trading. They highlight continuing expansion in myopia management alongside a more measured pace of growth in connected eyewear.
