Optegra launches new partnership initiative with community optometrists

Optegra Eye Health Care has announced a new partnership initiative to strengthen collaboration with community optometrists who are referring patients to the hospital group for private treatment.

ConnectedCare aims to create a seamless referral and follow-up pathway between Optegra clinics and optometry practices around the country, with the focus on returning vision correction and private cataract patients to their original optometrists for ongoing care.

Participating optometrists will be able to refer private patients to Optegra for cataract and vision correction procedures, while maintaining continuity of care by encouraging patients to return to them for ongoing eye health checks – particularly through a new welfare service.

Following treatment and post-op medical checks at Optegra, optometrists will conduct a wellbeing check-in call, to follow-up with their patient and encourage them to safely maintain their aftercare regime.

The initiative has been well-received by the optometry community.

Nick Tippett, Optometrist from Boots Opticians Godalming, said: “We have referred a number of our patients to Optegra under the ConnectedCare agreement. Our patients are very appreciative of the post-treatment welfare check and the opportunity to ask any questions.

“From a practice perspective, it also allows us to maintain a strong, ongoing relationship with our patients. We have had some wonderful feedback regarding the surgeons and the care they have offered our patients.”

By accessing Optegra’s five-star facilities and world-class surgeons, referring optometrists are provided with peace of mind that their patients are in expert hands.

Justin Cook, Optegra Head of Sales (South),
who has been instrumental in developing the initiative, said: “We have created this partnership opportunity as a smooth, easy process for optometrists.

“There is no intense paperwork, just a simple activity which adds value to the patient in terms of their follow-up care, while encouraging optometrists to refer their patients to Optegra with this chance to increase their own revenue.

“The optometry practice will be compensated for delivering the welfare call and completing an assessment on our website.  We are excited to have launched this initiative and look forward to seeing the positive outcomes it delivers.”

Optegra’s Commercial Director Adam Cockley said: “We see ConnectedCare as a creative opportunity to leverage our relationship with the many optometrists we work with and provide a high quality of support and treatment for our shared patients, while further strengthening our relationship with community optometrists.”
