HOYA Vision Care UK announces three-year charity partnership with Alder Hey

HOYA Vision Care UK has announced Alder Hey Children’s Charity as its new local charity partner for the next three years.
The partnership will see colleagues from across HOYA Vision Care UK take part in fundraising events, challenges and activities in support of Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and the children, young people and families it cares for.
Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, based in Liverpool, is one of Europe’s biggest and busiest children’s hospitals, providing care for more than 450,000 children and young people every year. Alder Hey Children’s Charity raises vital funds to help make the hospital and healthcare campus a world-class, patient-friendly environment for patients and families.
The cause has a deeply personal connection for the HOYA team. Long-standing employee Vicki Evans, Wholesale Channel and Sales Excellence Manager, sadly lost her daughter Daisy to leukaemia in 2023. During Daisy’s treatment, Alder Hey provided dedicated and compassionate care and support to Daisy and her family.
Vicki will help launch the new fundraising partnership on 17 May, when she takes part in a parachute jump in aid of Alder Hey Children’s Charity, alongside HOYA colleagues Claire Evans and Sue Tizzard.
Vicki Evans said: “Alder Hey will always mean so much to our family. The care, compassion and support they gave to Daisy, and to us, during the most difficult time of our lives was truly remarkable. I am incredibly proud that my colleagues at HOYA have chosen Alder Hey as our local charity partner, and I hope we can raise as much as possible to help the hospital continue supporting children and families when they need it most.”
A spokesperson for HOYA Vision Care UK said: “Our colleagues chose Alder Hey because it is an extraordinary place that makes a life-changing difference to so many children, young people and families. This partnership is especially meaningful to us because of Vicki, Daisy and the care their family received. We are proud to be supporting Alder Hey over the next three years and look forward to bringing our team together through fundraising challenges, events and activities.”
Following the parachute jump, the HOYA team will hold further fundraising initiatives throughout the partnership, with the aim of raising as much money as possible to help Alder Hey continue its vital work.
