• Are you committed and passionate about contact lenses and anterior eye health?

• Would you like to make a difference?
• Do you want to be the voice that represents your peers?

The BCLA are looking for committed and passionate members to put themselves forward to represent their peers on our Council. We would welcome nominations from:

• Optometrists (including newly qualified professionals)
• Contact Lens Opticians
• Ophthalmologists
• Technical areas of the profession/industry
• Industry

BCLA Council represent the Association’s members who are from a multi-disciplinary profession and industry covering all sectors relating to contact lenses and anterior eye health.

As we approach our AGM in the summer, we can confirm there will be three positions available.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Rakesh Kapor (Practice owner and optometrist), Christopher Liu (Ophthalmologist) and Jonathan Jackson (Hospital Optometrist) for their contributions, dedication and for representing us so well over the years, and we wish them all well in the next chapters of their careers.
You will see from the above names, that we attract a wide range of individuals with varying skillsets, expertise and from various backgrounds. We are fully inclusive and whilst wanting to maintain a wide range, no member should feel their experience or expertise is not required, or is not a replacement for those stepping down. We want to hear from everyone.
The BCLA has undertaken a project to change direction, and we will see the foundation stones of this implemented this summer. You will join council at a very interesting time and will play an integral part in deciding and delivering the strategic direction of the BCLA, whilst representing members and ensuring that all members’ views across the Association, profession and industry are represented.
If you would like to put yourself forward please complete the online nomination form.
