Reflections, connections, miles walked and funds raised.

22 walkers stepped out for Vision Care on Friday 20th March, walking through the night alongside other charities united in supporting people without a safe, secure place to call home on the London Walk organised by the London Homeless Collective.

The Vision Care team was made up of clinic volunteers, trustees, staff, friends, plus 6 staff from Mondottica Group and 3 from Théa Pharmaceuticals Limited as part of their charity partnerships this year. The event was very inspiring for the walkers, plus raised over £9K to help fund free eyecare services for people experiencing homelessness.

Prashant Shah volunteers as an optometrist at our London clinic and has witnessed firsthand the positive impact our service has on people’s lives. The first section of the walk passes close to the clinic.

.. ‘It was inspiring to take part in an event organised by the London Homeless Collective and to see so many people coming together to support important causes. Walking through London at night was also a powerful reminder of the reality many people face every day, with far too many forced to sleep rough and live without a safe place to call home.’

Grace Downes, Head of Marketing, Mondottica, said Taking part in The London Walk on behalf of Vision Care was a powerful and reflective experience for our team, highlighting the realities faced by those without a safe place to call home. At Mondottica, we are proud to support Vision Care’s vital mission to tackle inequalities in eyecare and provide free eye tests and glasses for people affected by homelessness.

Raj Gajjar, Medical Area Sales Manager, Théa said On behalf of Théa, I wanted to share what a meaningful experience it was to take part in the 10K London Night Walk along with my colleagues Jet and Olivia to support homeless people. Walking through the streets of London at night really brought home the challenges faced by those without a home and made me appreciate even more the incredible work Vision Care does every day to support them…. Participating in this walk has been both humbling and motivating, and I am grateful to have had the chance to contribute alongside my colleagues.

Thank you to the Vision Care walkers – and to everyone who donated in support.
